Beam shaping to scale up microprocessing

نویسندگان

چکیده

Many industrial microprocessing applications that use femtosecond lasers have been developed in a variety of sectors, including medical and semiconductors. To access new large-scale such as surface texturing however, robust industrial-grade beam shaping solutions need to be combined with lasers. Cailabs Light Conversion partnership demonstrate the quality robustness their solution using Canunda-Pulse shaper Carbide laser.

Beam shaping using Gaussian beam modes.

A beam shaping method is presented where a diffractive optical element (DOE) is designed by optimizing the complex mode coefficient weights of a set of Gaussian beam modes. This method is compared with the more standard unidirectional approach. Differential evolution is used for the optimization in both the unidirectional and Gaussian beam mode optimization methods. For the particular transform...

Tissue Microprocessing

We recently reported on multiplexed and adaptive staining of tissue sections in the micrometer-scale using the vertical microfluidic probe. With this approach, in addition to staining tissue sections precisely for high-quality information, the paraffin embedded tissue sections can now be locally dewaxed and processed for subsequent staining. This will ensure the re-use of valuable tissue sectio...

Two-dimensional nonlinear beam shaping.

We develop a technique for two-dimensional arbitrary wavefront shaping in quadratic nonlinear crystals by using binary nonlinear computer generated holograms. The method is based on transverse illumination of a binary modulated nonlinear photonic crystal, where the phase matching is partially satisfied through the nonlinear Raman-Nath process. We demonstrate the method experimentally showing a ...

Beam Shaping for Phase Singularities

In this paper we are molding the phase profile of a Gaussian beam in order to achieve a phase singularity called optical vortex. For this purpose, we apply the beam shaping technique for a 635 nm wavelength radiation using a diffractive optical element with high diffractive efficiency. We use reflective spiral phase plates and fork-like computer generated holograms, fabricated with photolithogr...
